Joanette Kruger is a top player. She was born in Johanessburg in South Africa. on September, the third 1973. She is among the most experienced and hard-to-play players on the tour. During her career she has collected two WTA singles titles.
The first one she won back in 1995 in Puerto Rico and the second one is from the 1997 Prague event. She had also reached the finals of the Oklahoma event, en route to the final she upset Serena Wiliams. Joanette has as well 4 titles from the ITF circle. As a doubles player she is not very successful however - she has reached only once a final of a WTA event - in Bol'98. Due to a foot stress fracture, Joanette Kruger couln't play for about 4 and half months, but she came back very impressively. At the German Open'00 in Berlin, she reached the semifinals before falling to her county woman Amanda Coetzer. Later at the Us Open, she played a terrific match vs Arantxa Sanches Vicario, one of the best in her career, and despite she lost the match, it showed her great capacity.
